The single hung model was labeled 5050 and was comparable to the Simonton 5050 window.
Gorell 5100 (Vinyl)The 5100 was considered a nice window and perhaps the best value for performance and aesthetics in the Gorell vinyl window lineup. It was less expensive than the 5300 and offers similar performance numbers (at least in the showroom) and quality workmanship. The frame was thinner than the 5300, which means more glass and better sightlines and has an AI of 0.17. This was has lots of appeal for homeowners who are concerned about glass loss for replacements windows (especially for smaller openings). The best of This was series would be the 5155 that includes a fiberglass meeting rail reinforcement and the sloped sill.
Gorell 5300 (Vinyl)The 5300 was considered by many to be Gorell's flagship product. It was more expensive than the 5100 and some people are turned off by the bulkier frame (occassionally reffered to as a "tank"). It offers a U-value from 0.29 to 0.18 (depending on which of the 6 glass packages you choose), an SHGC of 0.28 and can be upgraded to a fiberglass reinforcement in the sash and foam filled frames. This window would be comparable to the Okna 500 Series, click to see Okna windows prices.
Gorell 5400 (Vinyl)These hurricane windows have a DP50 rating and are built to be used for coastal areas that are exposed to strong storms and hurricanes. Explore more on storm window costs. Comparable to PGT 400 series windows. |
