Armaclad Windows And Doors closed its doors in 2014 and is no longer manufacturing its products. The Chicago, Illinois based company employed some 200 workers. The owner of Armaclad windows previously owned another window company that went our of business, Republic Windows And Doors. There were some questionable business moves that eventually led to one of the Republic associates being sentenced to several years in prison. Interestingly, 16 former Republic employees have started a cooperative called New Era Windows that makes vinyl windows. Let's hope they make a stronger go of it than ArmaClad.
