Apex Windows Reviews

Apex Windows is actually called Apex Energy Solutions. These guys are a direct-to-consumer window and door installation company that is owned by Great Day Improvements. Great Day has been gobbling up companies in the window and door space for the past decade. Check out the lastest Apex Windows reviews below.

Apex goes from neighborhood to neighborhood offering their replacement window and door installations. Up until 2024, the sold the Insignia series, which was a rebranded Alside window. The Insignia was nice looking and had good (but maybe not great) energy efficiency numbers. In 2024, they switched to the Champion vinyl window due to the fact that Great Day owns Champion windows as well (keep it in the family I suppose).

Apex And Thebco

Hi Tom, wow, thank you so much for the response sharing your expertise and all the detailed information on window brands. It is a big decision and a lot of it due to the price. As you suggested, I had checked out 2 other local companies that have had good reviews and word of mouth (local area subreddits, nextdoor, yelp, etc). In the end, we decided to go with Apex. I can provide you with details of the quotes and get your thoughts if you'd like.

One slight clarification. I wanted to make sure to ask again with Apex on how they (Champion, Apex) all operate under the GDI umbrella. So the Apex person clarified that both Champion windows and Apex share the same manufacturing facility. He wanted to differentiate that they still are made with different designs, etc. I'm not sure if that makes a difference but in the end, I assume if they were both acquired and under one company that some cost savings and efficiencies would occur.

It seems Apex is still using their Insignia window brand but assume it's not the Alside version. We're getting 19 double hung triple pane, 1 picture window (garage window), 2 patio doors, and upgrading our bow window to a bay window (left and right are double hung). We are going to pay $36k.

Thebco is a long-time local company and their triple-pane came out to $52k and double-pane $49k. I believe they use the Sunrise Restoration windows. The other local company with a nearly perfect rating on Angi was Jordan Exteriors (~350 reviews) and their quote was based on the Okna 500 series and it came out to $35k double pane and ~$46k for triple pane.

I threw in what Apex sent as their NFRC window ratings. I believe we're getting the Triple Pane, Argon, DS, No Grid with U-factor of 0.22. Thanks again for the thorough writeup and just wanted to share with you what I had for information if it might be helpful for anyone else.
