Home : Replacement Window Companies : Soft-Lite Soft-Lite Windows Prices And Consumer CostsExplore Soft-Lite windows prices on the many different series offered by the company. Models and series include the Barrington, Bainbridge, Classic, Pro, Imperial LS, Elements, and Barcelona. The target prices are obviously generic (every project and install is different) but the price is meant to reflect a good price on a standard sized double hung window, along with solid (not shoddy) installation.

Soft-Lite Barrington Series CostsThis vinyl window is the low end window from a very solid company. The window should be a consideration over lots of other brands, but not when compared to the other Soft-Lite offerings. Yes they are less expensive than the others, but there is much better value in the Imperial or Elements Series. Having said this, the Barrington is not a bad option for small to medium openings. The Barrington sashes are quite narrow and you could run into issues with larger openings (although the window is still better than 90% of the entry level windows from other companies). Some homeowners think the exterior drip cap is odd looking.

Soft-Lite Windows Prices | Bainbridge SeriesThe Bainbridge is essentially the same window as the Barrington, but it has a slightly different exterior and some nice upgrades. These include its balance cover, exterior screentrack and the reinforcement where the metal meets the rail. Comparable to the Simonton Reflections 5300 series - find out more on Simonton windows prices.

Soft-Lite Classic Series CostThe Classic series is an "older" design and therefore a "stripped down" window in comparison to the Imperial. It might be considered by some to be a bit outdated, but do windows really get outdated? I think not. Not a bad window by any means, although the Pro or Imperial LS are the better performers. The Classic has an air infiltration rating of 0.09. The window dealers who carry the Classic are often smaller outfits and/or contractors, which can translate into very good pricing in certain areas.

Soft-Lite Pro Series CostThe Imperial Pro is a definite upgrade from the Barrington and considered a very nice mid range window (but not as good as the Imperial LS). The frame includes foam fills, Super Spacers, uses a double strength glass, has a better locking screen, a rail refinforcement, uses a better balance cover, and has a higher DP rating (50), a 0.28 U factor, and slightly stronger frame. It has what many consider to be one of the better sills available.

Soft-Lite vs Provia AspectHi Tom, I am trying to decide between the above mentioned windows and would really like your honest opinion.
[Site Editor's Answer]Kimberly, pretty close in terms of window quality. I think the Pro would be my pick, but it's almost a coin flip. For me, the choice would come down to the company doing the install. I would look at their online reviews and how they conduct their business to drive my decision. From a product standpoint, you have two very good options in the Provia Aspect and Soft Lite Pro. Provia Aspect Windows Price
Soft-Lite Windows Prices | Imperial LS SeriesWhile the performance numbers between the Pro and the LS are going to look similar, the end products are certainly different. The machinery used to weld and assemble the two windows is different (at least at the time we checked). The LS uses triple weatherstripping, has a kevlar reinforcement as opposed to an aliminum version with the Pro and an air infiltration (AI) rating of .02 as opposed to .07 on the Pro. (Both of these AI numbers are very respectable.) The LS uses the Intercept Spacer, which is a step below the non metal Edgetech used on the Elements (see below). Comparable to Sunrise Verde. Soft-Lite Elements Series CostThe Elements is the top of the line offering from Soft-Lite and fairly similar to the LS model. The two windows do have a few key differences. The Elements comes standard with a non-metal Super Spacer called the Edgetech which is an optional upgrade on the LS and costs about $20 (and well worth it). The Elements double hung also has a tilt and locking mechanism that work together so if you reverse the lock you are able to tilt the sashes. The frame uses a bead & cove design that most industry insiders think provide a better look when close up (although not noticeable at distance). It also comes standard with accidental glass breakage and the Better View Screen, whereas these are both optional upgrades on the LS. The Elements has excellent performance numbers with a U-factor of 0.19, an Air Infiltration of 0.02 and a DP70 rating. This window is one of out picks for the best vinyl window on the market. Comparable to the Okna 800 Series.

Pricing On Elements SeriesI followed your advice and got two quotes on 23 windows:
[Site Editor's Answer]Irina, if it were me, I would go with the Soft Lite Elements for an extra $1,800. It's one of the best vinyl windows available and that is a great price on the Elements. You really can't do much better!

Soft-Lite Windows Prices | Barcelona SeriesThe Barcelona Series is the company's impact window and although hard to find generally, it is a very good series. A definite buy if you can find it and if the price point is not too steep.
