Harvey windows doesn't make the top vinyl replacement windows, but they enjoy a good reputation for producing steady and solid products. The Harvey Slimline series is their entry level vinyl window. The Slimline has a 1/4" thinner frame than their higher end models, making for good sightlines that maximize glass, but won't necessarily provide the best long term frame for larger openings. The window offers an STC rating of 28. The Slimline is probably fne for smaller openings, but homeowners should consider with the Classic or Tribute for standard to larger windows. Comparable to Bayshore Series from Great Lakes.

Harvey Windows Prices | Classic Series

The Harvey Classic series is their middle of the road vinyl window and some window contractors feel this may be the best value window from Harvey. The Classic uses a block and tackle system and offers more glass exposure over the Tribute. The width on the upper sash is 3 5/8" and the lower sash is 3 1/8". The window offers the following performance numbers; U-value of 0.32, Air Infiltration of 0.14, DP35, STC of 28 and an SHGC of 0.30. Comparable to Ply Gem Pro Series.

Thank you for the reviews. I was wondering which replacement window is better Harvey Classic or Provia? I have 2 estimates: 1 for 29 provia windows for $ 27500 and 1 for 29 Havey classic windows for $ 25100. Which one do you consider the better deal?

Tom, the Harvey Classic is probably on par with the ProVia Aspect or ecoLite models. I would put the Provia Endure series squarely above the Harvey Classic. Both good windows though...I'm sort of assuming based on the price that this bid is for the Endure series. This would be my call if you plan to be in your home long term. If you're out of there in 8 years or less, I'd save the money. I would go back to the ProVia dealer and ask him to match the Harvey Classic bid as just see what he says...

Harvey Windows Prices | Tribute Series

The Harvey Tribute series is their best vinyl replacement window and is generally well regarded as a solid mid range product. The window is nice looking and probably gets the nod over the Simonton 5500 Series, a similarly priced window. Some contractors think it has a somewhat bulky frame. The performance numbers will vary a bit, but here is what we found; a U-value of 0.30 and a DP 30. (The triple pane glass option will reduce down those numbers and should be considered if the upgrade price is right.) This window may rate just below the Simonton 5500 Series in terms of quality and price.

Like many hurricane windows, consumers are somewhat restricted in terms of the style options, that include awning, casement, double hung, and picture windows. The window should deliver an STC window rating of 34 and a DP55, both impressive numbers. Their Energy Star package, which comes with a lowe glass, grids and argon window fills should deliver a .30 U-factor, .28 SHGC, .10 air infiltration, 3.33 R-value, and .51 VT. These are good performance numbers. Compare the Vigilance to Simonton StormBreaker Plus window.
